College Resources

Indiana is like most states, and a recent study by The Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce revealed by 2018, 55 percent of jobs in Indiana will require post-secondary education.

Students of all ages – from kindergarten through college and adulthood – can be winners when they prepare for and pursue higher education.

Led by the state’s Learn More Indiana initiative, this page promotes specific, practical steps to help students at all levels get to and through college.

  • student scholarship information;
  • free services like the new Indiana College Costs Estimator; and
  • a website with the latest news and information at Learnmoreindiana.org/cost.

State survey data reveals about 70 percent of Indiana’s would-be first generation college students don’t think they can afford post-secondary education. We want those students to know college is possible for all Hoosiers, and encourage them to take advantage of the resources and assistance available to them

Four of the most helpful websites are:

IndianaCollegeCosts.org – This free service provides Hoosier families with consistent and accurate estimates of college costs across all Indiana campuses, both public and private. The site features side-by-side comparisons of college costs, expected family contribution estimates, “Ask the Expert” sessions and more.

LearnMoreIndiana.org – Indiana’s one-stop-shop for helping Hoosiers plan and pay for college is available online at this website. It features specific goals for all students, promotional materials, details on special contests and events, links to a variety of online resources and more. Updates on Learn More Indiana are also available on Facebook and Twitter

First Generation Student – This is a personal favorite of the Net Literacy team!  It is filled with great information that you can immediately put to use:

  • What’s the lowdown on college?
  • How do you find – and get – a great internship?
  • Want a free SAT prep, ACT prep, the common app, college budget calculator, or federal student aid info?

Almost everyone that really wants to go to college can choose to earn $100,000s of dollars over their lifetime and graduate from college.  Net Literacy encourages student success through high school and college!

It’s unfortunate that just like in the “real world,” there are those that take advantage of the unaware online through scholarship scams.  Don’t be ripped off and read or watch the four articles below:
