Leadership
The thousands of Net Literacy student volunteers are as successful as our leadership that we have chosen. Net Literacy’s Honorary Board provides student volunteers guidance, direction, and serves as role models. Net Literacy Board of Directors is our working board, 50% of which are student board members. Net Literacy’s Advisory Board members are friends of Net Literacy whose wise guidance is respected and appreciated. Net Literacy’s Chairman provides the Net Literacy Board of Directors wisdom and serves as the firewall to ensure that well meaning adults serving on the board of directors don’t upsert the students serving on the board. The Founder & President oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of Net Literacy’s Digital Literacy Corps of student volunteers. Click on the video below to learn more about the Digital Literacy Corps model or visit www.digitalliteracycorps.org.
In 2003, the students that founded Net Literacy based the organization on youth engagement, empowerment, and enrichment. Fourteen years later, Net Literacy ramins an all-volunteer organization. We have no paid staff, yet we have achieved much through our thousands of Digital Literacy Corps of student volunteers. Net Literacy was also based upon the premise that we would not charge our constituents, the underserved that find themselves on the wrong side of the digital divide, anything for computers or the many services that we provide. Fourteen years later, we continue to keep our promise!
